Roger Gasser was born in 1969 in Breitenbach, Switzerland.
He studied economics in St. Gallen and went on to hold various positions in the financial sector before moving into a leadership role in the field of education.
Several years in Latin America provided him with deep insight into everyday life in the region. Through his wife, who is from southern Argentina, he became closely acquainted with Tierra del Fuego and its people. The stories entrusted to him there form the heart of this book.
He lives with his wife in the Swiss mountain village of Engelberg.
